How it began

In 2014, Brett and Lorinda Mascull acquired a vast parcel of remote, uncultivated land in Taranaki - wild terrain woven thick with native mānuka that few people had ventured into.

The early years weren't easy. Yet we believed in the land, in the bees, and in the possibility of creating something honest and extraordinary from this wild corner of the world.

Mānuka grows best where most things won't - on steep ridges, in rugged soils that remember ancient volcanic fires. Here, our bees feast on uninterrupted mānuka nectar, untouched by commercial crops or synthetic chemicals.
